I understand your sentiment but this is real life. Things like this happen to children. If we cower from it now on a video, how useful will we be if we ever see it in real life?
People complain that nobody helped her but none of those people ever saw anything like that in real life. Nobody knew what to do. But if there had been a paramedic or even a nurse they would know what to do because they have seen tragedy enough to not be shocked by it when it's most important.
I hope so but I base this on the first time I saw a dead body. It was a traffic accident and I got there before police or anybody else. Seeing the dead body freaked me out so much I was no good to anybody.
I did start watching morbid things and I would not say I am desensitized but have come to terms that I will possibly see horrible things at some point and I can't be a deer in the headlights especially if my children, or any children, are involved.
I don't like having seen what I have seen and I don't like knowing what I know but I think I would rise to the challenge if anything like this happens in my life.
Some people are naturally calm in chaotic situations, I'm one of them. I'm sorry you had to go through that, though. I just think it pollutes our soul.

We are watching it with morbid interest. Not of God. We know what happened. Seeing disturbing images over and over only invite evil spirits in.
edit:
there is no reason to desensitize yourself to this. you will act accordingly, through God's will
