Hi frens,
Current pediatrician (in Massachusetts) requires all patients to follow the CDC vaccine schedule, no refusing/altering, or you're out of the practice. It seems like virtually all pediatricians are this way near me.
I need a doctor who can do the following:
- Not require vaccines (They're ALL poison. Every. Single. One.)
- Do wellness checks on my children at milestones to make sure my little ones are healthy (normal Pediatric stuff)
- Licensed to be able to give referrals
- Licensed to be able to order prescriptions (like if we antibiotics for strep/ear infections/etc)
- Takes my company's insurance
My children are 1 and 2, any advice would be much appreciated. Any other MA pedes with experience around here?
Thanks!
Edit: Thank you all for your helpful suggestions, my wife and I appreciate you all! We're going to consider a family physician, and realize that one covered by insurance is likely not going to happen.
Freedom isn't Free, right?? :)
As for medicine / home remedies, does anyone have any recommendations for kits that cover the most important stuff to have on-hand in case our little ones do come down with an illness?
Thanks again!
Pediatricians are out of the question. All of them are sucked into following the guidelines. When I was a kid we didn't have a pediatrician. We went to see the family physician like everyone else. That may be where you start. In addition, if you are seeking insurance coverage for visits that is going to limit your choices. Someone outside of insurance networks is more likely to give you what you are looking for because they don't have to take orders from the bean counters. But, you will pay out of pocket for their services. I know alternative MDs that see kids as young as 2.
Obama Care really put the kibosh on the flexibility of providers to run their practices and many retired because of it. Besides, finding an independent provider nowadays has become a rare sight. They are just about all corporate structures - meaning providers must follow orders. FYI - Wellness checks are for the purposes of giving jabs. Good luck.
