I'm not even sure its about NATO profiting. The Bank of England is the guarantor for the majority of Ukraine's World Bank loans. Something to the tune of 15% of the UK's total GDP last I ooked, which is A LOT for a country with an economy thier size, and only growing smaller as they move away from a hydrocarbon based economy more and more.
That alone is enough to motivate the UK into pushing for an escalation at every opportunity. Everyone else is involved for one reason or another personally, but they all see benefits in being able to balkanize Russia.
Here is what actually happened:
Russian drones headed for targets in Ukraine and were hit by electronic warfare and went off course. Belarus military saw this happening and shot some of them down. Belarus immediately notified Poland and Lithuania (confirmed by Poland and Lithuania foreign ministries). Thus Poland had a heads up and scrambled their defense, and at least 3 other NATO allies did the same - shooting down 3 of the 19 rogue drones. The range on the remaining drones was only 700 km and they ran out of energy and went down in fields etc. One may have hit a house.
Media narrative: Russia is being bad so it is okay to seize their 200 Billion euros in assets being held in Europe and give it to the military industrial complex to save Ukraine.
Reality: Belarus (Russia's close ally) gave warning and did what they could to down the drones once the electronic warfare - presumably from Ukraine/NATO - caused them to go off course. Russia did not intentionally violate Polish airspace.
