I don't promote violence, but I'm no pacifist either. Not a jock and not physically skilled, but don't FA 'cause attack me and you will FO that win or lose I'll fight back.
A little story, my mom among other faults, had a preference for fellow drunkards, she was not violent but all except the last man in her life were. Jimmy the worst most violent of all killed my too young to be weened kitten when it piddle on the floor. I was 10 and he made me bury that kitten as if it was my fault. I'm a strong-willed person and I often say, "I might cry, but I can still bury the cat". Back me into a corner and win or lose I will fight back.
Male lions are lazy and they eat first after the females make a kill, his job is to defend...
An old Christmas movie was about a lady married to a very demanding bossy husband and he didn't want a Christmas tree. A real jerk, if he wanted a glass of water at night, his wife had to get it. Her neighbor or sister-in-law had a hen-pecked husband and gloated about the poor lady with the demanding husband... When she had enough, she told the gloater "I'd rather be married to a Lion than a mouse" That shut the gloater up.
Like it or not, males and females, lions or humans, fulfill different roles, none better than the other. Your part is to be the strength where your partner is weak, and your partner the same...
As I age, I'm finding out the wisdom of how the Bible says we should live is true.
Oh, that's far from the worst of the Jimmy situation. I just turned 67 and managed to get through life without getting in trouble. God uses me to help people as I'm not shy to share life's ups and downs. If I can get 1 of 100 people to think about my conversation I consider that a victory. 20 years ago I mostly went on about domestic violence or having a career rather than a job, nowadays it's more about anti-abortion and anti-depopulation.
I'm 99.9% sure I convinced 1 girl not to abort, and 100% sure I convinced a few people to not get the COVID shots. That makes me feel good to know that... If I ruffle a few feathers along the way, it's ok. Here on GAW it's just self-therapy.
People who have challenges in life as a child, often live in the past, my one sister, a year older than I was more profoundly affected than I, and she was not a very nice person until she stopped drinking the last 5 or so years of her life. Unlike mom, she was a violent drunk.

I'm so sorry you had to live through that. 💔
May Jimmy burn in hell forever. God's Justice is Eternal.🔥
