A silver eagle is going to trade and appeal to someone bartering WAY more than aether "trust me bro" when there's no power or cell service.
PM really isn't for bartering... but it can be. It's tangible and real. So is lead, drankin liquor, cigarettes and canned food. A cup of rice could be worth a lot if things got bad.
