The parks near us were "closed" during the shutdown in PDJT's first administration (2019?). These were mostly BLM areas with hiking trails but there were no workers on site to keep anyone from entering so lots of people (myself included) took advantage of not having to pay to use the public land our tax dollars pay for in the first place.
