I had Grog run some numbers for me for the state of New York's carbon "footprint". If ALL CO2 generated by human activities in NY were stopped, it would amount to something like 0.4% of the global carbon budget. And of course, stopping all human generated CO2 could never happen. When I brought this up on a social network comprised of NY people, most, almost all, people said something on the order of "but we need to do our part". They are admitting that just about any "reduction in CO2" is just virtue signaling. I think the 30% will never wake up.
