I keep hearing from Trump's administration that "everything is historic" but this year, food, rent, and gas has all gone up. My roommate (mom) is depressed and losing hope. To be short, we both share an apartment. I've been losing hope. I cannot find and stable jobs, nor can she, and the cost of living could literally put us out of this place. We've been praying to God to protect Trump so he could make america great and affordable again. Does anyone here have any solutions on how to survive in this damn economy?

Look up what your landlord has to pay in property taxes, and what your rent would be otherwise.
My daughter and son-in-law are moving in with us b/c they cannot afford a home for themselves, that they might have afforded a decade ago; but they did not have the economic pressure back then and could pay the rent. Now it is too late, housing prices have DOUBLED!
And property taxes! Our mortgage is paid off, but the property tax burden is as much as a rental! We are forced to RENT OUR OWN HOME from the County, b/c if we do not pay, they will TAKE IT from us! Despite our clear ownership and paying off the mortgage! You rent from the bank and then the county just to stay in your OWN HOME!
I had to live in a mobile home in a trailer park for some years! Not my choice. Finances dictated. I did not feel humiliated, but practical.

My husband and I have now paid more in property taxes, than what we paid for our house. More than double.
Yes! I am fighting with the court about how much my house it worth, they don't like my appraisal. It feels odd I am paying what was rent ten years ago just to stay here.
This topic! Zillow has house appraised for 3x what I paid. I have never done anything to fix it (couldn't afford to). Taxes keep going up on an appraisal I never approved. If they came in and checked my house like a real appraisal, they'd have a much lower figure, so why do they get to raisey taxes based on thos fictitious number???
I hope going forward, if we have property taxes, they are a fixed number, not this mils bullshit.
Simply ask them if they included mortgage value as the home purchase price. If they say yes, thats admission to guilt. Why ? Because Mortgages include more than the house purchase price. Fees, points, inspections, insurance, addendums for improvements ALL are ROLLED into a mortgage and have NOTHING to do with purchase price. So , they used it to their advantage to hike up prices, rates and income. RICO BABY. RICO LAWSUIT. You are in the RIGHT !
Nah. I built a house on my parents land. They want to charge me what the neighbor with 15 acres and similar house pays plus charge my parents more now that it's developed. I say they should charge the appraised price of the lots worth split in whatever way they want between me and my parents. They want more then that.
While I like this concept, is there anyone who has set a legal precedent for it?

I know of no lawyer that has taken on the giant. Many have opined and add to the concept. To me, its a very simple path, for someone with the fortitude to do so. It will wind up in the supreme courts. But the magnitude of this practice is from about 1985-2025 country wide. Trillions.
