As far as I understand it, if someone gets a pardon, it means they can't plead the 5th and are subject to perjury charges if caught in a lie during a future investigation.
So, If Ray Epps claims in court that he wasn't working for the FBI and there is subsequent proof that he was, he goes to prison for perjury as far as I understand it.
