As a female I am ok with this. If any woman can keep up then let her participate. But the majority of females cannot measure up in their physical strength to males. And it’s exactly why there are lowered times and measures across the board in in all female sports that differ from male sports times and measures. And it’s also exactly why trans males should be banned from participating in female sports. Trans females who want to participate in male sports are at a distinct disadvantage, however
I work in the trades, semi-skilled. I think we're about 5% female and that might be a high estimate.
IMHO as a helper or second hand every female trainee was better than a male, but no one's hiring for that they're hiring for future lead hands because attrition is so bad.
Women just don't have the physical strength for being a lead. You're 100% responsible for all safety, including setting up staging and equipment. You can't not be capable of setting everything up, because you can't in good conscience ask someone new to climb something you can't set up safely.
I'm a fat ass couldn't(/wouldn't) do a pull up to save my life, but I've got eye witnesses who can confirm I can do a 1 armed pull up with a 100lb window cause those chimp brained fuckwits screwed up on the hand-off and the guy who was only supposed to put a screw in ended up doing the whole lift from the wrong side. So I say shit like "you need to be stronger than your body is" cause i tore my bicep doing that.
So just like with the military, can women do the work? Yeah absolutely. Can they do the job? No. Cause the job is everyone going home at the end of the day where everything went horribly wrong, and it will require everything you have and more, and you're not getting there if you're naturally deficient.
And my job doesn't involve people actually trying to murder me. I mean, except that one time.
Gotta bring equity and inclusion to insults, if you're using simple slurs you're not putting enough heart into it. Unfortunately can't use too complex of a vocabulary because most of them didn't pass high school.
I can already hear the left going crazy over this. I am woman, and I have nothing against women in the military. However, I am smart enough to recognize that if I was in a combat situation along side a full grown man and he got shot, I would not be able to pick him up and carry him to safety very easily. I know my capabilities and am not offended by anyone pointing that out. There are just some things that a woman cannot physically do like a man can.
