As much as we’ve heard about updates to the energy system and changes in frequency, I can’t help but think this might be involved on a level beyond “reducing long term maintenance cost and improving reliability”.
Among things they’re capable of is having their internal equipment payloads upgraded with very little visibility, but it could also be relevant to the poles themselves.
They’re being installed in quite a few places around the US.
