At 31 seconds is Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) from Twin Peaks, and then at 35 seconds is Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) from Miami Vice. David Lynch made Twin Peaks partly as a reaction to shows like Miami Vice where in every episode characters would be killed with little concern for their back stories or characterization. To contrast this, Twin Peaks spent the whole season on the characterization of murder victim Laura Palmer. I love both shows, for different reasons of course, but it’s interesting that they were so close together in this bright American future video.
