If you want to solve crime in the ghetto, you need to provide something for idle hands to do.

Idle hands are the devils workshop

They shipped all of the meaning for manufacturing to other countries,

And told everybody that in the future, they would make a living in the “information economy”

Give kids access to shop classes, maker spaces, etc.

Bring back manufacturing

thats the only long-term way to boot-strap a local economy is to export some tangible goods, and bring outside money into your local economy

If you just inject welfare into the ghetto, it will get spent on necessities, and when that money is spent, it leaves the local economy,

so while its nice to get welfare when you need it, longer term they need to find a way to bring outside money in

with AI, there should be lots of opportunities for discovering potential markets

Like, why does a pair of Nike cost so much, but is made in asia instead of chicago?

Does it really make sense to ship your shoes in from china?

Do you even realize how awesome it would be for a ghetto kid to dream of working in a Nike shoe factory?
