Military is guaranteed back pay.
Back pay.
As in, they aren't getting paid RIGHT NOW. Guess what? Bills wait for nobody. They keep coming in every month whether you have a paycheck coming in every month or not.
A lot of people can soak up one month of no pay and collect their back pay and everything will be fine. A lot of people will feel that sting for a month and be okay in the long run if that happens.
But what happens if this shutdown drags longer than last time because Democrats are so insane they just won't give in?
What happens when the military hasn't gotten a paycheck in 2, 3, 4 months?
Democrats have no idea what kind of pressure cooker they are heating up right now. The longer these people go without getting paid, the worse it's going to get - for Democrats.
Nothing will motivate them more to take action when ordered to do so than being 3 months behind bills having difficulty keeping things from going to collections. If the Democrats think they can starve out the military that way, they're in for a special kind of hell that they are really not prepared for.
I woulda say almost everyone I know. Maybe except some kid who just started working. But yea, folks who have a regular job, payments, bills. Drive cars, live in apartments or homes, If they don’t have any spare they are either living well beyond their means, or just suck at saving money. I’ve never made the money I hear others make. And yet I could go a few months easily. As I said, put a little back every week. I don’t care if it’s $5. Do a budget. I know a few who make $75-80,000 a year and don’t have a pot to piss in. Just terrible with money. They could make a million a year and still be broke. Don’t be like that. Learn to conserve and appropriate what’s worth your dollar. I’m low income compared to most. I’ve gone 6 months easily without pay. Just gotta learn the game. It sick’s sometimes, you’ll do without. But you’ll learn.
