Curious how accurate this is today as well as I heard turkey numbers are down

It's way off. For the 5 sub-species (Eastern, Rio Grande, Merriam’s, Gould’s and Osceola) of wild turkeys alone the 2019 estimate was 4,966,127 to 5,001,127. That was with 8 states failing to report counts that year.
