It sounds good on the surface but is bound to cause resentment among single people and those without children. I don't see how this would lead to a peaceful society.
You have a valid point. Let's instead cut government to the minimal necessary to promote peace and prosperity, and eliminate the Personal Income Tax and the Federal Reserve! (I think the PIT ending would pretty much require the end of the FED, as well)
