As a Brit, I struggle with all this. Mainly because we are still a fairly wealthy nation but I suspect most of that wealth these days comes from the City of London financial centre.
If this British plot is foiled and the perpetrators removed then we won't have a City of London and will suddenly become very poor.
There are two kinds of wealth. The wealth on paper and the real wealth.
Finance is all about wealth on paper. Its a mirage. The stock prices, the portfolios, the company valuations, the investments, cash flow - all that is mirage. Its a magic of the money. But there is a cost to this magic. Its comes are the expense of enslaving the people to keep this mirage going.
When the perpetrators are removed and City of London becomes what it originally was - just a city - this mirage will end and so will the enslavement. And then the real wealth can start flowing, the stuff thats been suppressed for the paper wealth to thrive.
This is what Trump is doing with his trade deals. Setting up each country to capitalize on their real wealth, without the magic of money.

I’d rather be poor and still have my country than be subjects of foreign occupiers propped up by wealthy bankers.
But I want to have my cake AND eat it!
OK, you are probably right ...
Exchanging one master for another is the problem with most of the EU.
You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result ?
Israel has taken over this routine of Rape and Pillage. For some time now.
