I do enjoy FB for staying more connected to distant family & school friends from the day. It's not as though I'm posting political information on the site.
That said, there is a lot of political memes, information & such out there. Much of it directly from the President & other MAGA politicians. To keep the energy toward MAGA, I of course hit the thumbs up on those posts.
Evidently, doing this now gets you labeled as "spam".
I left fakebook 10-12 years ago. One of the best decisions I ever made. It ate up my free time and I rediscovered why I didn't communicate with those people that I hadn't talked to in years. My advice? Dump it.
Had an account for a week, a girl tried to get me to join so i did for her. Seen her celebrating karl marx' birthday, called her a filthy communist, blocked her and deleted the account. Never looked back
Most of my local friends, as myself, are long in the teeth. Some of us live alone, or with aging spouses. We do use facebook to check in with one another daily. We have a good morning and a good night to each other. We share pictures of our gardens, our pets, grandchildren, but the check in is kind of a safety feature for us. It also helps if our cars are in the shop, to pick up things for one another. I guess we are old enough that cell phones are not our automatic go to. It works for geezers, we are not political, we don't need divisiveness, we need to look out for one another. It's rural, it's northern Vermont, we are stubborn and independent and do not want to live in senior housing with HOA's. tyvm. I can go to dozens of political spaces to express my opinion. Places like this.
I understand. I do hit the like or angry response on posts that are not personal, but I don't engage beyond that, seeing as my full name in on FB, color me cautious.
Agree. This however was a new direction that I'd not seen before.

I mostly keep it to keep up with distant family & friends. So to that end, my footprint there is relatively small.
I do agree, it can be both a time & mind suck if one doesn't watch it.
(((They))) are up to something, head on a swivel and have no fears
Just weird that I could "like" 100's of conservative posts per day for the last decade, but as of yesterday at about 6pm, it's suddenly an issue.

I agree with you IlovemyGod.
...but liking a post does not necessarily create division. But, it does show & help generate positive energy for conservative platforms.
Since this energy is now being squashed, it is a great example of how dirty the liberals play... And what evil they have aligned with.

We've practiced this for a long time. R1gged for red. Miispelings mater. $ymbolism will be their downfall. NCSWIC WWG1WGA
Very good point Dudeman.
Interestingly, this time I was flagged for giving too many "Thumbs up" to conservative posts through my personal page
My sharing of political nfo typically goes through an alternate page.
