Why does this matter?
Legitimate NGOs working with vulnerable children in Haiti publish audits because they know what it looks like if they don't. Organizations like Restavek Freedom Foundation and Partners in Health post detailed financial statements specifically because Haiti has active trafficking infrastructure and weak governance.
Wilson knows this. He's been running LIDÈ for a decade. The absence of audits isn't oversight—it's policy.

Here's where Wilson's judgment gets even more suspect.
Who is David Choe?
A graffiti artist turned multimillionaire (Facebook stock) who in 2014 told a graphic, detailed story on his podcast DVDASA about what he called exhibiting "rapey behavior" toward a massage therapist. The story was so disturbing—describing in explicit detail what amounted to sexual assault—that after massive public backlash, Choe claimed it was "fiction" and "performance art."
Whether real or fake, the man publicly told a story about sexually assaulting a woman as entertainment.
Wilson's Decision:
Either during or shortly after this controversy, Wilson brought Choe to Haiti to work with LIDÈ's vulnerable adolescent girls. Choe's own website documents this. Multiple sources confirm he was "painting with at-risk children through The LIDÈ Haiti Foundation."
Think about that choice.
You're running a foundation for displaced teenage girls in Gonaïves—a region where: • Gangs traffic minors for $50 • Post-earthquake chaos created perfect trafficking conditions • UN peacekeepers have their own sexual exploitation scandals
And you bring in an artist known for telling graphic stories about sexual assault to "mentor" these girls?
This isn't an unfortunate coincidence. This is a decision.
Legitimate child-protection NGOs do extensive vetting. They don't bring in celebrities with histories of graphic sexual content—real or performed—to work with at-risk teenage girls. They especially don't do it in a country with active trafficking infrastructure and zero oversight mechanisms.
But Wilson did.
No background check could have missed the DVDASA controversy—it was all over the internet. Which means either:
- Wilson knew about Choe's "rapey behavior" story and brought him anyway
- Wilson didn't bother vetting someone he was giving access to 1,200+ vulnerable girls
Pick one. Both are disqualifying.

In 2024, Wilson quit Twitter in performative outrage over "racist Haiti migrant smears"—false claims about Haitians eating pets in Ohio that Trump/Vance amplified.
He virtue-signaled about immigrant hate and called out Musk's platform while his own LIDÈ operates in a Haiti now controlled by gangs, where UN "peacekeepers" are being deployed for "child protection" (with their own history of sexually exploiting the populations they're supposed to protect).

RAINN looks like a survivor-advocacy group on the surface, but the architecture, funding, and partnerships show a machine designed to stabilize institutions, redirect heat, and control narrative risk.
Built by a PR operator, not by survivors. Founder Scott Berkowitz came from marketing and political consulting. RAINN was constructed like a brand and a liability-buffer — not a grassroots trauma movement.
Its biggest funders are the same institutions most exposed to assault scandals. Documented major supporters include:
U.S. Department of Justice (major grants for decades)
U.S. Department of Defense (contracted RAINN to run the DoD’s Safe Helpline)
Verizon, Uber, Lyft, Google, Amazon, Comcast/NBCUniversal, ViacomCBS, Paramount, Time Warner
These are all entities that face massive reputational and legal exposure in harassment, assault, and trafficking claims. RAINN gives them a clean public shield — a hotline to point victims toward instead of internal systems.
The reporting structure itself protects institutions. When a corporation, university, or military branch says “Call RAINN,” the case leaves their hands. The potential scandal, liability, and documentation shift outward. RAINN becomes the cushion.
The policy arm aggressively promotes the “isolated incident” narrative. RAINN has repeatedly told lawmakers that organized abuse networks are essentially nonexistent — a position that perfectly aligns with the interests of donors and institutional partners. Survivors consistently report minimization — not by the hotline staff, but by the institution. The hotline workers do basic crisis triage. The organization behind them softens, redirects, or reframes cases. The pattern never changes:

Exactly the framing powerful institutions prefer.
Celebrity supporters add another layer of image management. One of RAINN’s early major boosters was Tori Amos, whose artistic branding leans heavily into dark, mythic, and occult-styled themes. Not an accusation — just explaining why she makes sense as a “edgy but artistic” public face. Celebrities like her give RAINN aesthetic legitimacy and appeal to younger, emotionally vulnerable demographics.
Their real allegiance is obvious from their network. Hospitals, universities, law enforcement, corporate HR departments, DoD, DOJ, and global megacorporations — that’s who RAINN works with, trains, contracts with, and receives money from. Those are the clients. The public hotline is the storefront.
Bottom line: RAINN doesn’t operate like a survivor-driven organization. It operates like a pressure-release valve — absorbing reports, defusing scandals, protecting systems, and shaping public perception in ways that keep powerful institutions insulated.
