This site is flat out broken and something needs to be done about it. Why are we still here? Surely we have enough members now to create and develop and pay for, our own website. Why the fuck are we still using communities.win? This site is pure dog shit.
I am almost to the point of never returning. You guys are great. I love you guys. I consider ALL of you my friends. We have an awesome group of people here. I have zero complaints about anyone here. Just to be clear. But this site frustrates me to the point I don't want to come here anymore.
The Mods and creators of this board really need to consider taking GAW to the next level. I'm simply asking if this is possible? I actually know a bit about this because I too was a mod on GAW. Yep, I'm a Mod. I know the inner workings of GAW. I know this is indeed a possibility. I wasn't a Mod here. I was a Mod @ GAW VOAT. Remember that place? Yeah I'm old school :)
Anyway I figured I'd get the discussion started. You guys know what to do, we get enough frens saying "This ain't a bad idea - lets do this" and the Mods just might agree and make this happen. I think we could end up with one of the best sites online, not this steaming pile of frustrating dog shit of a site - NOTHING WORKS!!! and I'm sick of it.
Come on Mods! You can make this happen. Q ain't going anywhere, and we are only growing. This has got to be one of the fastest growing sites online today. You would easily be getting millions of hits a day, and congratulations, you do a Stella job! I know, I've been there. We can raise the funds, and we have the tech now to do it. I can't see any downside to having a functional kickass website. Why?
I believe we're just about to kick off, if you know what I mean ...
My only issue is with the search bar lol
Maybe the site is on a .win because the alternatives would be AWS, which could get this place shutdown in .2 seconds. I Dunno.
There is a way around this.
If you choose a search engine and ask it to search within greatawakening.win, that brings back sensible results.
Maybe we should have some sort of shortcut to that.
maybe put a google search wrapper on the search bar where it is effectively working like adding site:greatawakening.win on google to the beginning of every search? i don't know how that works exactly
That's the kind of thing I was thinking, but i'm not sure whether it's in our scope to do that. We have limitations on what we can do with the code.
I'll give that a try. It just doesn't seem to like searches which are too specific.
Here's an example :
https://search.brave.com/search?q=guess+site%3Agreatawakening.win
which you get by typing "guess site:greatawakening.win" in to the brave search field "
