Maybe this a constantly moving chessboard. She either is very loyal and taking the sword fall or she is being unmasked as a we get deeper the embedded may be unmasked as desperation rises. I am guessing there are various levels of Manchurian candidates just for the that purpose and those who aren’t are owned quickly or opposed- however it makes sense to lawyer them in such a way to cause maximum confusion.
