Eh, i could have bought DMT on it when DSL was still around. earlier than that. That's just when everyone FOUND OUT about it, and the "owner" came out to say it was his project. It was NOT. LOADS of people talked about it in 2009-2010 about how they could get acid, black tar heroin and even explosives on there. It was an open network between MANY, and of course, everything was being TRACKED. That's why i decided not to buy anything on it. I rarely spent more than 5 minutes on it the few times i did, cause i was WAY too chickenshit. Glad i didn't!
I get where wikipedia is lying about its inception; there was no head of silk road, it was just a bulletin board for a while, with no graphics or shopping carts, just forum style discussions, that then linked to these cheap geocities commece pages.
