Perpetual property taxes should be abolished. Unless the historical context and reasons for the word “militia” in the second amendment are understood, those things probably aren’t actually understood.
There’s actually still around 250 private fire departments in the US!
Where I live its all volunteer fire. The county has the police which is broken up into precints.
