Any tips on gum disease?

You guys have been great about providing alternative treatments for cancer and other ailments. I'm curious if yall have any tips for gum disease. My gums have started to recede pretty bad lately and I've had no success slowing it down with brushing, flossing, and using the waterpik.

Pff that is crazy cost for a dentist/hygienist and crazy frequency. Should be $100 or so
