This. I inherited a home from my parents. It's literally a cheat code. I truly don't need to work. Utilities and food cost me the same as what just a rent or a mortgage would cost. I feel incredibly guilty taking a full time job because I know likely the person doing it in my place actually needs it. And in spite of it being an ugly old home, it's worth four times as much as when they bought it and it keeps climbing. If this Trump fund money could be used towards a first home instead that would guarantee financial independece whether one ends up in a trade, white collar or pursuing a passion project. 30 year mortgages are why they have most Americans enslaved and in debt
Mind you It is still a question of the individual. My wife and I are both super frugal and super conservative. The average normie who demands a brand new car every three years and needs to keep up with the Jones and travel internationally twice a year...there's no saving them. But if you know how to exercise restraint and you know how to manage finances not paying rent or a mortgage is literally a game changer

Also convert Soc Sec contributions over time into account to convert SS to private funded retirement plan. 15% a year adds up.
