Basically, Honduras was already awash in corruption. JOH was helping Trump unwind it in the first Trump admin by cracking down on illegal immigration, admittedly lagging on drug enforcement. When Biden came in they framed him for the existing drugs and reversed his immigration policies. So he was a Trump ally from the beginning and was framed for drug trafficking. In reality he was always trying to stop human trafficking.
