They don't want to hear that. God's Word tells us He sent His Son Jesus to be our Saviour. They don't want to hear that. It's the Greatest Story of God's love, but they feel threatened only because they do not want to admit their guilt and trust in God to save their souls. This is where the doctrine of works comes in. They think if you do more good than bad, the good will outweigh the bad and voila you make it to Heaven. Not so my friend, you must believe in Jesus to get to Heaven. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to Heaven, but by Him. They don't want to acknowledge that.
