Many of them aren’t going to run again.
Without term limits and a bit of accountability, new career politicians will just be elected and do exactly what the old ones did: grift.
The problem isn’t unique to the current gaggle of morons sitting pretty in Congress and many of the nation’s statehouses and city councils. They’re just the most obvious blatant examples of it.
It’s been an issue for well over a couple centuries at this point.
