US Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been slammed over his “tone deaf” shout-out before speaking about the terrorist attack in Australia.
Following the events in Sydney, Australia, that left 15 innocents dead, including one of the attackers, Schumer offered his condolences.
In the same breath, Schumer announced he would speak about the Bondi Beach massacre before celebrating the victory of an NFL team.
“I’m going to say a few words about the terrible shooting in Sydney, Australia. And first, of course, as I always say — go Bills. They beat the Patriots today. It’s a big deal,” Schumer said.
Schumer’s comments were blasted by social media users, with many labelling the highest-ranking Jewish lawmaker in US history “tone deaf”.
“Watch what a cold, tone deaf, cheap, pandering politician Chuck Schumer has become,” one user wrote.
