Frens,
We have had numerous discussions on the merit of Linus Pauling's assertions that blood vessel health and CAC scores can be lowered by consuming large doses of L-Lysine with Vitamin C. I just wanted to add another very useful supplement that can help people who have high blood pressure and low endogenous Nitric Oxide levels, which can lead to blood vessel damage. I have been taking a supplement by Dr. Nathan Bryan called N1O1. It is a lozenge that you take twice daily, 12 hours apart. The purpose of the lozenge is to generate nitric oxide and revitalize the NOS enzymes responsible for converting L Arginine to L Citrulline. Instead of supplying Nitrite, such as beet powder, this generates actual NO courtesy of your saliva and stomach acid. I have been on the supplement for 14 days, and my average resting blood pressure is 122/76. Prior to taking the supplement, my average resting blood pressure was 139/88. I had previously been on Telmisartan to lower blood pressure, but this lozenge appears to have helped fix my endothelial health by revitalizing the NOS enzymes within my blood vessels. The effect is also cumulative, with his clinical trials indicating around 10-15% of NOS enzymes being revitalized each day that you take the supplement. I sleep like a baby, and have been working out like a mad man, after just 1 week. It's truly been a miracle, and I implore our Frens to check him out! Sauce below in comments.

I knew there was a benefit to huffing whippets from the whip cream can!
Kek!
I take an NO suppliment almost daily. Helps tremendously.

I've been taking a Nitric Oxide booster for about 2-3 months, I also drink 8oz of Knudsens beet juice (not from concentrate) every 2 days, (I don't do the chews or powder) been doing this for around 5 months. My blood pressure has came down, don't know the number at the moment, I can feel it has. I was having slight chest pains when I knew it was up, that has stopped.
That is good news. That means you must have decent endothelial function and your enzymes aren't oxidized, rendering them incapable of creating vasoldilation! In people with the oxidized NOS enzymes, beet juice does not help them, because the Nitrite is never utilized to create NO. My NOS enzymes were in such bad shape that my blood vessels just stayed in a constricted state. I think it was from a bad health supplement, further exacerbated by covid.
High NO levels are not a good thing. SuperBeets is a product that is well avoided as it’s good marketing and not good health. There is much science to support this. Also high blood sugar does more harm to the circulatory system than low NO levels.
The point here is if your blood vessels are constantly constricted due to NOS uncoupling due to oxidative stress, that there is a way to fix the oxidized enzymes and improve your endothelial health. This can be proven by blood pressure, via the endopap test, and erection quality (both male and female)
Jury is still out on this. More science needed. There are drawbacks from taking NO2 supplements daily
You can always supplement with folic acid / folate to assist with reparing the H4B cofactor instead. As always, consult with your medical professional before taking any supplements.
Please be careful when giving such advice. About 33% of people have the gene mutation whete they can't process Folic Acid very well. Natural sources of this vitamin are almost always in Folate form and bypass this problem.
Most sources I have looked at consistently use folic acid instead of folate for endothelial studies. As always, please contact your medical practitioner before partaking in any supplementation.
