34 After 232 years, today the U.S. mint has made the last Penny. It costs nearly 4 cents to make one penny now.. We're inevitably going digital. If you go to the store and pay cash they will give you change by rounding off the numbers.. Last batch of US pennies sold for $16.7 million (google it) (twitter.com) posted 176 days ago by Bibloop 176 days ago by Bibloop +34 / -0 12 comments share 12 comments share save hide report block hide replies
I wonder if pennies will still be used for making change at the grocery stores and 7-11's?
I heard they will start rounding off the numbers so you suppose to get 0.23 cents in change they only give you 0.20 or if 0.27 cents they'll give you 0.30
Local gas station is rounding everything down.
Stores in my area have already started rounding up or down if you pay cash.
