The video is accurate and I am not aware that there is a "moderate" view of this fundamental other than "we won't kill you right away". Jizya is one of the five pillars, so is unavoidable in a Muslim government, and is a progressive tribute payment (i.e. it soaks the rich). And people think Christian and Jewish triumphalism is bad but forget about this. All the same, the issue is not that shariah is illegal, it's that it gives far fewer regulations than Western countries and tempts people to ignore those local laws.
