Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 years old why a nation that is $38.5 trillion in debt is giving foreign aid and paying $968 billion a year to protect European nations? The USA should take that money back home and leave NATO. (media.scored.co)

That's about $6,000 per U.S. taxpayer (those who paid Federal income tax) EVERY FREAKING YEAR! (I got that the annual U.S. funding was 860 billion from a different source, but still close to $6,000/yr per taxpayer)
