Like I stated, it is getting to the point you just can't trust anyone these days. Doing business with anyone from the ME is risky. They just don't operate like we do. We Americans are too trusting and others take advantage of our innocence - especially the elderly that have never known that level of dishonesty in their entire lives. It is sad that people have to be that way. Not that we haven't had problems with our own criminal types here in the US, but the scale now is definitely one of the down sides of globalization.
FYI: Been hearing some rumors that started right when the Thai military hit some of those scam centers. All of a sudden there was a noticeable drop in scam calls. That would make sense. But what is strange is that the so called scam prevention app that people downloaded also became inaccessible at the same time. This app was sold as a prevention against such scams and was very intrusive with its collection of personal data. Some are wondering if the very app they thought was supposed to protect them from scams was actually part of the scams and may have also been located in those same scam centers. Some people said that right after they downloaded the app the numbers of scam calls they received increased. Could just be coincidence, but you never know. They all say the number of calls have decreased with the Thai hits.
They are very much bunch of scammers.

Good to know. I don't download anything unless I absolutely need it. Manual still work.
