There was no distinction between Jews and Judahites; in the 10th century the French word Ju arose as a simple elision of Latin Judaeus for the same people. There was no Edomite people that remained: Edomites who converted to Judaism were regarded as full Jews (such as Herod), while Edomites who didn't were lost as a people after the Romans restructured the region.
You're free to use the KJV 1611 if you like (the Russian says the same), but there's not a significant difference and there's no special reference to Edom there.
When you get to Revelation 2-3 in 96 AD, you're not talking at all about those Edomites converted to Judaism about 250 years prior under Hyrcanus, because they had been fully integrated. You're talking about Asians in Smyrna and Philadelphia who were known to the Christians in those cities, and who may have included a young Onkelos (a Gentile who later converted to Judaism and worked on a Tanakh translation). We know this because 12 years later Ignatius wrote about these same people and demonstrated it was true, they were Gentiles who repented at his preaching (and, according to Jesus, would have bowed down at the believers' feet). If there is any application to works of satan today then we need to read the whole two chapters because Jesus identifies seven contradictory works of satan and not just one, and to focus on one would be to refuse to hear all he has to say.
And if Americans were to say self-identified Jews are not Jews and we know who the real Jews are, Jews would have a right to say self-identified Americans are not Americans and they know who the real Americans are.
