I've wondered if he knew he was going to be killed. So he decided to create a fake death before a real one happened. Make it look like a left wing crazy got to him first. It would only work if the people trying to kill him believed he was truly dead. It could be why erika and tpusa are getting angry about the questioning. I don't know what to believe except that the story we are told does not add up at all.
