"In Freemasonry, the Tyler, also known as the "Outer Guard," is an appointed officer responsible for guarding the lodge’s meetings against unauthorized individuals, such as cowans (uninitiated or unqualified persons) and eavesdroppers.
The Tyler sits outside the closed door of the lodge room, typically armed with a ceremonial sword, to ensure that only duly qualified Masons are allowed entry. This role is critical to maintaining the security, privacy, and sanctity of Masonic proceedings."
The sword is ceremonial. It doesn't actually function as a weapon.
If that's the case then why couldn't Erika just pay the guy in place on the roof with a sniper rifle?
The fact that there was a whole unnecessary layer of indirection makes me think there is more going on.
Not that Erika etc. aren't involved, but it's just not simple.
