I don’t think the timing is right, especially if you’re going to do tarrif refunds, dividends, etc….wait until it’s processed and then you will have given every single opportunity for people who ARE trying to pay back their loans or at least start into it…..
We aren’t owed anything by the govt, but with the level of fraud, SNAP scams, ebt, etc…..if you think this is great timing to start hammering default borrowers then you’re again clueless. We are at a pivotal time where we want to further the movement and garner more support; waiting a bit until we get some of OUR money back makes sense.
If you don’t think that the federal school system, especially colleges is predatory and absolutely tricking people then you are clueless.
The loans should be paid back; in fact they should allow tax money to go into it at a certain rate….so waiting until a few months after a dividend will truly seperate the wheat from the chaff….those who really plan to try will pay it off as a first priority.
