Howard County, Maryland government leases a building that is registered to an LLC registered in Delaware. It is hard to figure out who owns this LLC. Rumors are the LLC is owned by a former County executive. So even when you think they are out of power or that you have won an election nothing has really changed. It is us against them.
Years ago I was being treated to a dog and pony show by a Maryland politician during the last 3 days of the legislative session. O’Malley was the governor. But when we were lead through various meeting rooms formalizing the passage of bills our host politicians were pushing I noticed little paper tags on the individual seating chairs/desks (much like a college classroom desk) with written codes/numbers on them. They were all “E.I Kane” tags. Kane was the lieutenant governor to Ehrlich who was the prior governor and who lost re-election to O’Malley. So even though administrations had changed the political class was still leasing and storing and moving and providing services and assets to the new administration.
I recall holding my tongue along with individuals I was teamed with during the dog and pony show. As we drove out of Annapolis, MD we all commiserated on the fact we were all screwed. Most definitely us against them; and them means democrats and republicans as their party does not matter. They are all just members of the uniparty. All just scum of the earth.
I had a friend (he’s deceased) who was the head of the BAR association for a wealthy county. I golfed in their outing every year (I am not an attorney.). Yes- All of the defense and prosecuting attorneys and judges socialize. But I have to say- I get it. They all were educated and came up through the same system. They have to work out deals with one another constantly. But I also saw the mayhem that creates as that society of “law people” shape the rest of society by their actions.

I have always heard about the prosecutors and the defense attorneys are all playing golf and drinking together but uniparty, I now believe.
