I guess we do. My church family, we have dinners and gatherings all the time. More so than my immediate family. And sometimes, for me personally, a gift of a knife someone will make, or belt buckles. Or just some kitchenware for the wife/house. The donโt want for Christmas, lol. I guess because itโs once or twice a week we see each other so often. Our best gift is Godโs blessings. And all the good things that come from Jesus. Itโs a daily thing. Children are used to the gift thing around Christmas. And weโll partake in that. Itโs usually gifts that we want for them or just financial to help with whatever they are in need of money for. Our kids are grown now. Young adults I guess they are called. But they know as we do, it absolutely isnโt about the gifts. Giving to others in need is much more satisfying. A new stove. Groceries. A turkey and ham for their meal. And that goes year around. We donโt wait. Personally I look forward to hearing someone needs help with something like a purchase or similar. We arenโt rich by no means, but it feels great to help others. That is what should be taught to children as well. We do. Our church families do as well. From what Iโve seen. People give me gifts around this time of year, and I usually give them to someone else who actually needs them, lol. Shhhh donโt tell anyone. ๐
