The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said a father in Texas found his kidnapped 15-year-old daughter on Christmas Day by tracing her phone's location.

The kidnapper didn't know to shut the girl's phone off and pull out the battery? Why didn't he?

Maybe he didn't realize she had a phone on her, or maybe he just wasn't that smart. Not all criminals are intelligent, especially if they're on drugs.

Were they having a private meet-up?

According to the article, she was apparently kidnapped at knifepoint.
