Per Wikipedia:

"On March 10, 2003, during a concert at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in London, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines told the audience, “Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas”. The comment, made nine days before the U.S. invasion of Iraq, expressed the band’s opposition to the impending war and their embarrassment that President George W. Bush was from their home state of Texas."

So Americans were pissed at the Chicks for speaking down on Baby Bush. Now, twenty two years later after finding out how evil he really was it seems the Chicks were correct in their disapproval. I think folks need to reevaluate their disdain for the Chicks. They were speaking truth to power and the media made a big deal out of it in order to protect Bush.
