I grew up with people addicted to gambling. The new slang "stacking" is not gambling. it is storing wealth. In many regards it is the complete opposite of Gambling.
I think hoarding is something different too. One who hoards PM's to me is a king of the future.
The beautiful thing about buying silver (or any other commodity) is that if you buy an ounce of silver today and hold it, you will have an ounce of silver in the future. Literally the definition of storing wealth. The currency conversion over the short term is just noise, and over the long term paper money is guaranteed to devalue.
My wife has never said anything about what I've bought and put away. It's not just metal either. We have had hard times, and she saw that having groceries was a good thing. During the clot shot scam, we never ran out of toilet paper. She's with me all the way on whatever I buy.
My relationship exactly. It went from “why are we spending all that money on gold and silver” in 2021 to “how much is it worth now?” in 2025.
Each has doubled in value and are well on the way to doubling again.
Mine has more than doubled, since I bought over 25 years ago. I've always been collecting silver from my change, at least 50 years. There was still a lot of silver coins still in circulation back then.
My guess is that it has doubled, doubled and doubled again.
Silver price.org shows an almost 800% gain over 20 years.
Congratulations on your foresight.
I had 10 oz. of gold around 2000 but I was forced to sell because of the tech jobs meltdown.
Unfortunately, no one remotely reputable is buying junk (melt coin, 90% Ag) silver. I have a pretty good stash of coins and when the market for them opens, they’ll be the first to go.
I bought christmas eve paying a high premium and felt kinda bad at how high it was. Very next day thats all eaten up and im up. Excited to see mon's open.
I took a lot of shit from family while I was stacking between $10 and $20.
Now...crickets.
Crickets until they come for a taste.
