I think their history goes back far before the old testament. I think it goes back to the Richat Structure, or "Eye of the Sahara," in Mauritania, Northwest Africa, proving Plato's Atlantis with its distinct history. Notice the nearby Atlas Mountains. The first ruler of Atlantis was Atlas.
They would have to be darker skinned due to how close to the equator they are.
Skin tone is a clue of someone’s distance towards the equator.
There was no sun screen back then. White skin would burn in those areas.
Climate's change, they were not always what they are now.
Wrong, you will notice that many Egyptian hieroglyphs show the people as being red, because they wore red ochre as sun screen.

They weren’t white. Whites are from colder climates:
It’s why culturally whites are better inventors and system designers.
Whites had to survive the winter which forced them to think long term like storage and supply chains.
