Thank you! I missed this post and it’s a valuable one. My oversimplification of the article is this—>. When States overextend their legal powers, the federal government has the Insurrection Act to protect the citizens. It’s been used by different presidents (Lincoln, Jefferson, Eisenhower and President Trump). President Trump has followed the law by > naming the actors. Describes their unlawful conduct. Warns of consequences. Grants opportunity to comply.

Governors treated it as negotiation leverage. It was legal notification. <—This is my favorite line! It shows how little the governors know about the law and what they are legally allowed.
