The Left is far smaller than the footprint it projects. They are creating an impression they are more powerful, influencial and victorious than they really are. But don't let that influence you, they are potent organizing villains that are very successful. They employ every tact possible and the brainwashing is fierce.
Unfortunately, 99% of the people who hurl bot accusations will not use reason or logic like you're doing, and will merely double down on their blind belief the opposition is just bots.
Expect the brainpower to only drop in the future, and the bot accusations to proportionally increase.

Go to chatgpt, ask it to instruct you in creating a conversational bot for a forum. Ask for help in scraping posts to reply to. Ask for code to programmatically create posts.
Anyone who is smart can have it up-and-going in a day.
Your freshly created bot can judge sentiment of people posting. It can find topics of a certain theme. It can look for posts pushing one position, and create counter arguments that represent a counter position.
Again, this is trivial. Any average joe can do this, right here and right now, and the responses would be believably written by a human.
DARPA states on its own website that it does this (consensus cracking bots that correct wrong-think).
This is truth. This is reality. It certainly happens, all day long every day on every political forum. Your fervor in arguing that it doesn't happen does not match reality.
Billions upon billions of dollars are being invested in AI right now, making ram prices go through the roof. If anything, bot accusations will proportionally increase because bot activity will proportionally increase.
Truth ultimately survives, however. No amount of content the bots generate will be able to somehow violate this fact. If something is objectively true, it'll debunk them instantly. People should make themselves smarter so they can tell if something is true or false. The rise of AI should actually encourage people to become smarter, not lazier and dumber.
Also, bots don't need to be fake news spitters. You can also make truth bots.

A better position would be to have controls on AI available to the public, like making it illegal to have a bot present itself as human on social media.
