There was a bill drafted a few years back that would require hedge fund to divest of the residential properties or be taxed. In many cities they have acquired over 20% of residential homes for rentals. Correcting this and getting rid of the international building code that was forced on our cities who received TARP funds (2008 crisis), will have a positive impact on housing affordability for younger generations.
I was working for a person for almost two months (until I got sick again with my lungs, I suspect it was a mold on the roof) who owns a rental business and let me tell you, her rents are over the roof, she rents for few months condos for $12,000.00 and $24,000.00 depends where, if it is close to the beach can be worse. The smallest amount I saw was a condo for $2000 per month. Who can afford that crap?
Yep. I wanted to buy even if it is a tiny home but can’t even do that, and i don’t want to live in my sister’s home, only the illegals can buy homes and I don’t know how they are doing it, who are the ones helping them?
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
For a very long time, buying and owning a home was considered the pinnacle of the American Dream…. It was the reward for working hard, and doing the right thing, but now, because of the Record High Inflation caused by Joe Biden and the Democrats in Congress, that American Dream is increasingly out of reach for far too many people, especially younger Americans….
It is for that reason, and much more, that I am immediately taking steps to ban large institutional investors from buying more single-family homes, and I will be calling on Congress to codify it…
People live in homes, not corporations. I will discuss this topic, including further Housing and Affordability proposals, and more, at my speech in Davos in two weeks.
Great for the people of Hawaii. Masie will do her best to try to block it.
Yep, he is a criminal with a suit

What in the IBC can you get rid of that would make that much of a difference?
WHY WOULD THEY BE PANICKING? I THOUGHT AFFORDABILITY AND STICKING UP FOR THE LITTLE GUY WERE THEIR CORE VALUES?
WHY WOULD YOU BE PANICKING, HUH DEMOCRATS?
LOSING YOUR ABILITY TO HOUSE YOUR ILLEGAL VOTER/RIOT ARMY WITHOUT PUTTING YOUR OWN PERSONAL NAME ON THE HOUSE???
<duck meme>
BINGO. China, blackrock etc. are buying America and this must stop.

Illegals are making our dream impossible that’s the reason high prices for everything
Anybody who owns more than 2 homes should be considered a large institutional investor.
dammit. im selling my house this summer and already agreed on a purchase price for a new one
I mean, ive been saying this was needed for a long time. I just hoped it would happen after I bought my new place and sold my starter home
Oh no.
