I did notice an uptick in "Iran protests" which looked suspiciously AI, and were generated by a host of "new" accounts with not-Iranian sounding names. Dozens of them as soon as one opened FB.
My issue was: Well Iranians cannot be posting right this minute, because their internetz are down...
Then, I got tired of it, and started blocking them.
Then, suddenly they couldn't be blocked anymore. Weird.
So I visit one of these unblockable pages, and lo!: It's been removed.
So, some FB mod was on the job on the other end, for obvio reasons
