Explaining the nuances of anything with the left is pointless. I bristle when I see posts comparing things that the right have supposedly done, but "when the left did this, nothing happened" to use a broad example. I say, to hell with explanations and just do what needs to be done.

The best way of handling the brat is with a clear set of rules. If you do X, then the response is Y. No debate, no argument.

The way to get people hurt is to argue about the nuances every time. There is no nuance. If you do X... then expect Y, because it's going to happen. If you don't want the consequence, then don't do X.
