33 Iceland sits on two tectonic plates: North American & Eurasian. They diverge ~2 cm per year. Most Icelanders live on the North American Plate, even the capital, Reykjavík, is located on it. That makes Iceland subject to the Donroe Doctrine. But yeah, Greenland is a bit of a stumper, especially when considering it was founded by Erik the Red, should have called it Redland.
